Setting Up Remote Access on the Zmodo PKD-DK4216

When you think of home protection, one of the first thing that comes to mind is a Good Surveillance Security System which is used to monitor the premised of your home both outside and inside. There are many other uses for a camera security system but the most important thing use is for safety of your home and family.  

When it comes to your home and family, going out of the way to protect them is no problem especially when you are there and in their presence. But what happens when you are not there, maybe at work or out of town, and you need to know what is going on. The Zmodo PKD-DK4216 is one of the best home surveillance security systems and Zmodo's top seller. With many apps on the market for remote monitoring both paid and free, the best that we found and easiest was the Zsight app for iOS. It has it has its ups and downs but for the most part, it does exactly what it needs to do. Here is a little more on what we found about remote viewing on the Zmodo PKD-DK4216.

Zmodo Remote Viewing

You can monitor the cameras via the internet using a windows based computer running internet explorer although you will need to adjust the ActiveX settings and using mobile devices with iOS or Android using the company’s zviewer app. For Blackberry it is recommended you use iseeder, for windows or sysmbian devices it should work using Naway, ASee, or QQeye. Others have noted that it is compatible with Androids IP Cam app and iPhone's vMEye app.

Now depending on the type of router you have, remote viewing on the Zmodo PKD-DK4216 can be as easy as Plug & Play to a few hours on the phone with tech support. But for a basic router and internet connection, configuring the remote viewing on the any of these apps is for the most part no hassle at all.

Zsight Remote Access App

The easiest setup that was tried was using the Zsight app on a iPhone. Just download the Zsight app and scan QR code on bottom of the DVR unit and that was it, we had video! But it must be mentioned that

A little easier configuration goes a long way and with the Zviewer for PC you have additional functionality for controlling your system remotely and is much the same as what you can do locally – you can set up users, manage devices, browse video, set up a recording schedule and playback video. Using the Zviewer app after you have it setup, will probably be the best choice because of all the features you are able to use in the app.

Zsight Remote Viewing setup

The administrator can add users to the system to access remotely using their phone or computer and assigning pass codes and what they can access – manual record, playback, preview etc. Users can also be deleted. This is accessed from the DVR menu.

If you are shopping on a budget for a cheap flat screen TV, I have recommended some great cheap low cost flat screen TV's. The reason I have made a section to recommend these flat screen TV's is because I realized that 

1. Not everyone wants to spend a lot on a flat screen TV
2. Some people are looking to upgrade from their old box TV in order to get better quality TV picture
3. Some unknown brands of Flat Screen TVs can compare with some of the top name brands on the market

The Upstar P32EE7 32-Inch 720p 60Hz LED TV is one of the lowest priced 32 inch flat screen TV available on Amazon right now. It has a rating of 4.3 out of 5 stars and is a nice little TV for the price of $169.99 w/ Free Shipping. The picture is VERY crisp and clear. The only real negative is the sound quality from the built in speakers which overall is not the best of the best but it does the job although running the audio to an external speaker source easily resolves this issue. It has 3 HDMI inputs, 1 USB input, VGA and other audio inputs. For the money this is a great buy I must say!

The Vizio E320-B2 32-Inch 720p 60Hz LED TV which I must say that i have personally once owned this TV which is why I am recommending it. For $189.00, this TV if placed properly can really look like a 40 inch. The main reason I fell in liove with this is for the simple look of it which is due to the near borderless design that gave it a 30% thinner profile and slimmer base to save on space.  It is one of Vizio's best 32 inch flat screen TV that is included in the new E-Series. It has a solid 4 star rating on Amazon.com which is pretty great for this brand. This cheap flat screen LED TV is a perfect upgrade to any room.

And Last the last up is  

The TCL 32B2800 32-Inch 720p 60Hz LED TV which is a brand that many people may no be familiar with but I have a family member who has purchased this TV for his basement and for an brand that is hardly recognized, it is a great buy. For just under $200, this low cost flat screen TV delivers premium quality  picture in a slim frame design much like the Vizio above. This flat screen LED HDTV features High Definition 720p resolution and TCL True Color Technology for brilliant color and contrast. Now after doing some research, I've found out that the manufacturer, TCL, is one of the largest TV manufacturers in the world.
